There is ever-growing activity with CKAN and we thought we'd give a flavour of what's been going on. Recently:
  • Over on the developer-focussed list ckan-dev:
  • We had a Community Meetup on various Drupal - CKAN integration approaches. We now have a general consensus for the best approach to using ckan with drupal. This is essentially: using drupal for the display side and ckan for all data/metatdata management. The project is hosted at: http://drupal.org/project/ckan. If you want to contribute please ask for commit access! We are especially interested in people doing this for drupal 7 as we have no solid intergration module for it yet.
  • Web Mapping service on data.gov.uk Debugging.
  • CKAN team reviewed new javascript interface being developed by Matt.
  • The Norwegian community instance no.ckan.net is being looked currently by Havard. He's done a full translation for the site and so we upgraded it to latest CKAN version.
  • Three of the CKAN team have been signed up to do talks and meet people at the Open Government Data Camp in Poland in October. Let us know if you're going!
  • We're also gearing up for six of us to do a talk and code sprint at PyCon UK this weekend, with an eye on recruitment too :)
